Mindful Slow Flow Yoga

Mindful Slow Flow is a gently paced yoga class with a meditative character. Through movement and longer holds in restorative yoga poses, we notice the present moment, our state, and our inner atmosphere. The class unfolds with gentleness, care, and compassion, balancing relaxation with an appropriate level of intensity.

The classes are made up of slow movements that we follow mindfully from beginning to end and adapt to what feels natural and necessary in that moment. We also stay in several restorative poses for longer periods. These poses are not always entirely comfortable, so we notice the intensity and soften as much as we can. We become aware of and deepen the breath, which encourages change in the body and brings attention into specific areas. Mindfulness of breathing is one of the most widely practised meditation techniques, which is why connecting attention with the breath is central to this way of working with the body.

Bodily sensations are a field through which we learn to notice what is happening and how we respond to it.

Several times during the class, we remember exactly where we are and what kind of relationship we are creating with our present experience. The classes follow the theme of the month from the online yoga programme and are guided according to the Tena Yoga Method, and you can find them in the schedule.

No previous yoga experience is needed to join the class.
