Another Little Crawler

18.09.2025.

A sweet little chubster like this was crawling across our terrace. Slowly he went, wobbling along, with no obvious destination yet somehow not looking lost. What was he? What sort of tiny worm, and what would he become? We wondered…

We measured him against our fingertips.

Inspected him carefully from every side.

Then moved him into the grass, where he would be safer. Later we found out he was the caterpillar of a scarce swallowtail butterfly.
The little crawler was seen no more. Presumably he soon transformed.
