The cicadas have finally gone to sleep for winter and the buzzing crowd has thinned out. A single bird call, even the beat of wings, rings crystal clear, like a drop in calm water. The people have left; the hum from the beach and restaurant is gone. Against all this quiet, a boat engine rolls through like thunder. Animals feel the peace, that absence of tension in the air, and they soften too. The surroundings set our rhythm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I can best convey that silence through pictures of nature at rest. Every leaf and every pine needle stays still, almost frozen, entirely relaxed. Every step will echo, so each one needs to be soft and mindful. I can hear what I think and feel, and then I let go. Let nature\u2019s silence move into me.
